Incidence of endemic fascioliasis in animals and estimation of the financial loss due to seizure of livers in Andahuaylas, Peru

This study aimed to determine the frequency of fascioliasis in animals slaughtered slaughterhouses province Andahuaylas and financial loss due seizure livers. The research was quantitative at a basic level, analytical design, observational type, cross-sectional. It carried out between October December 2016 districts Andahuaylas, San Jerónimo, Talavera. At same time, retrospective corresponding years 2011-2016 conducted. Fascioliasis diagnosed through post-mortem sanitary inspection viscera. statistical examination with software Epidat 4.2, using Pearson's Chi-square test verify differences proportions; and, t-test estimate equality means, assuming confidence level 95% intervals α = 0,05. Most infected came from Pampachiri (p < 0,01); most affected species bovine (51,9%; CI 49,9 – 53,9).
